Old, dark places are prime candidates for ghostly tales. Tunnels add a touch of claustrophobia to the mix. Whether people were crushed building them or run over by trains, many have lost their lives underground. Tunnels have taken their place in folklore, fascinating both ghost hunters and those of us with a general interest in the macabre. The legend of The Screaming Tunnel in Niagara Falls begins with a young girl that met an unfortunate fate. There are a few versions of the story, but each one agrees that that she lived in a farmhouse on the south side of the tunnel.
One night her house caught fire, and she fled the building with her clothes ablaze. She reach the tunnel before she fell to the ground, and that is where she perished. Other tales say she was set on fire deliberately by her raging father, or that she was raped and burnt in the tunnel to hide evidence. The legend says that if you stand in the center of the tunnel and light a match, the match will go out.
You will then hear the screams of the dying girl. YouTube hosts many videos of it, though none of them appear to have captured the actual scream. One video does have coyotes in the background, making high-pitched yelps, of the sort that might well sound like screams with a bit of echo. The phantom that supposedly lived there is—and we only know about it thanks to a mistake.
A paranormal investigator was trying to find the Screaming Tunnel but got lost. He found himself at the much longer Merritton Tunnel, a rail tunnel in the nearby city of Thorold.
There he claimed he saw a strange blue mist. The TV show Creepy Canada did a feature on it, prompting thousands of visitors a year.
The ghosts here are said to belong to two rail engineers that died when the steam locomotives they were operating collided in One of the men became mangled in the boiler and died at the scene. When rescuers tried to pull him free, his legs came off. The fireman of the other train fell into the flames and suffered burns on 90 percent of his body. He died hours later at a nearby hospital. As an added bonus for hauntitude, when the canal that runs above the tunnel was built, it flooded a nearby cemetery.
The tunnel became so popular that authorities were forced to brick it up, and the tunnel may be structurally unsafe. Today, one of the paranormal groups that made it famous recommends avoiding it at night.
Sensabaugh Tunnel is was built in Tennessee in the s as part of a road and was named for the man that owned the land, Edward Sensabaugh. Old Ed features prominently in the legends behind the place. Your opinion on Ed is likely to be very different depending on which version you hear.
In the kinder version, Ed let a homeless man into his home as an act of charity. Their guest tried to steal jewelry, so Ed confronted him with a gun. He got away and drowned the baby in the tunnel. Another version omits the homeless man, and paints Ed Sensabaugh as a madman that killed his entire family, baby included, and threw their bodies into the tunnel. However she died, that baby is said to haunt the tunnel today.
Edward Sensabaugh lived into his old age, not dying until the s.
None of his children died as babies. By the time Ed grew old, vandals and hormonal teenagers had taken to using the tunnel for their respective fun. He would hide at one end of the tunnel and fill it with an eerie shriek, scaring off anyone hiding inside.I cant install hamachi it says that the the feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable click OK to try again or enter an alternate path to a folder containing the installation package "hamachi-update in the box below.
Same problem, hamachi keep restarting connection every 4 minutes with 44 secons aprox. I've had the same problem. I'm running a win 7 VM in parallels. Really I should be relying on the tunnel provided my hamachi on my mac, but for some reason I installed hamachi on the win VM. When I quiesced the VM and restarted parallels got the same ghost state issue.
I found that restarting the VM cleared the issue. I tried the suggest above also to no avail. Because my host mac had hamachi running, when I started hamachi in my VM win 7that worked as I expect it negotiated it's own tunnel.
But suspending the VM and then bringing it back to life after restarting my mac the next day, I would imagine the VPN tunnel went into a ghost state possibly even because it got confused with the availability of the tunnel my Mac re negotiated on start up the second day.
I tried selecting the specific adapter that parallels gives the host, and that didn't work. LogMeIn Rescue. GoToAssist Service Desk. GoToAssist Remote Support. LogMeIn Central. LogMeIn Pro. Did you mean:. Getting started Community guidelines. New Contributor. Re: Ghost state?I have the same problem! Did you find solution? I need help very bad, i cant play games with my frieds because of relayed tunnel! Thanks in advance After some tweaking and reading stuff about those firewall things, I got my icons on other people from blue relayed tunnel to green direct tunnel.
If you do not have a router or port forwarding is too difficult for you and you have turned firewall off and one thing to fix there is another way by trying to turn your anti-virus off but it is risky before turning it off always scan if there are no viruses and then restart hamachi after that almost everybody except for those who always have been relayed will get direct. We had direct tunnel after we portforward to the same ports.
After a week or so we had relay once again. Sometimes with a triangle next to it. We both re-install and went the whole situation from the start. Fixed the triangle thinky. Not the tunnel though. I hate to necro-post, but I had small bit of input. Hopefully you have figured it out before now, but I get the same thing if i'm using a wireless connection.
I believe to have a direct tunnel you must be using a wired connection to have a direct tunnel. I'd like to agree to know the cause, but can't say that's always been the case. Nothing's changed on my end for years, except OS updates.
I have to disagree with that, simply because on the network protocol level, at which Hamachi is working, is way below the levels that have anything to do with a connection being wired or wireless. Metaphorically spoken, that would be like implying that people cannot understand one another, if their messages are transmitted through a wire, but they would if transmitted face to face only through air.

No matter what city or state you hail from, you no doubt grew up hearing terrifying tales of one ghost or another with whom you shared a zip code.
We all did. Here are the spookiest ghost stories from all 50 states. In Februarya steamboat named Eliza Battle set out on a cruise down the Tombigbee River, carrying 60 passengers and more than bales of cotton from Columbus, Mississippi, down to Mobile, Alabama.
But on March 1, an unseasonably cold night, the cotton caught fire and quickly engulfed the ship in flames. It was the greatest nautical disaster in the river's history, leaving 33 passengers and crew dead. On brisk and chilly nights, people sometimes see the burning Eliza Battle rising from the misty waters where it sank, trying to complete its journey to Mobile. But Ike never returned. Mary locked herself in their room and waited, her anxious anticipation of Ike's arrival turning to dread and despair.
The innkeepers eventually broke down the door and found Mary dead in her wedding dress. Guests at the Golden North Hotel report that "Scary Mary" still roams the halls, appearing over their beds in the night to check that Ike isn't sleeping with anyone else.
The Hotel Monte Vista in Flagstaff, opened along Route 66 inoften lodged the casts of western films shot in nearby Sedona and Oak Creek Canyon—and reportedly houses a whole host of ghostly guests. In fact, John Wayne reported one of the hotel's first ghost sightings in the late s. Ever since, guests and staff have reported dozens of spirits stalking the halls, including a phantom bellboy who knocks on doors and disappears, the eccentric specter of a boarder who liked to hang raw meat from the chandelier, and a '70s bank robber who succumbed to his gunshot wound over a celebratory post-heist drink at the hotel bar.
Chidester had been accused of espionage for turning over Union mail to Confederate troops. To this day, bullet holes remain in an upstairs wall of Chidester's house, where Union soldiers fired at random, hoping to hit the alleged spy as he hid in a small closet. Paranormal investigators say his spirit remains, too, turning up in photographs and shouting "Get out! The home, which stands as a museum today, is open for tours so that you can see for yourself.
Alcatraz was the site of reputed hauntings long before hosting the famous prison Native American spirits reportedly roamed it then and nowbut today one of the most famous stories is of a prisoner from cell 14D.
The story goes that the prisoner spent the night in solitary confinement, screaming that a creature with glowing eyes was trying to kill him and pleading for help. The guards ignored him, but the next morning, they found the prisoner strangled to death—with strange wounds doctors said could not have been self-inflicted.
The Buffalo Rose Saloon in Golden, Colorado doesn't have much choice but to admit one underaged patron: It's believed the ghost of a girl who drowned in a swimming pool located in the saloon's basement back in the s still roams the building, skipping up and down stairs and making employees slightly nervous. The former site of the pool is said to be particularly unsettling, with the bar's overnight custodian, Seth Barry, describing it as "very bad.Home Discussions Workshop Market Broadcasts.

What does that mean? We're not in the same region, we're both from Europe, though. Ignore him as that is not relevant. If you do this, we may terminate your access to your Account.

Unlike VPN services they tunnel only certain game related traffic, everything else goes through your normal internet connection, so it doesn't affect Steam in the slightest.

Basically they create a virtual LAN so that games with no online multiplayer can be played through that virtual LAN over the internet. Used it quite a lot for older games and never had any issues. Last edited by Cathulhu ; 25 Aug, am. Can anything harmful pass through the tunnel taht hamachi creates? For example something like a virus that goes through unintentionally without him wanting? In theory yes, if his PC is infected, it can in theory use that tunnel to get to your PC.
Sounds really riskly because I don't think he protects himself much.

My only concern was that he could unintentionally infect me with anything and I'm paranoid about it so I don't know about using hamachi, would you guys use it if you trust your friend?
As i said, i prefer Tunngle, but with the few i do trust, i use it.I had the same message this morning but it just went away and everything is good now. Don't know. This particular error can be caused by a number of different things. You can try reinstalling Hamachi, turning off your firewalls, power cycling your modem if you have onebut first I would like you to try this.
If your using Windows We will reinstall the hamachi adapter. From there type:. This removed the adaptor. Now we want to add it back. You would do this by just manually adding it through the add hardware wizard in your control panel. Choose network adapters and then find hamachi from the list.
After you add the adapter back you will want to open your Network Connections window in the Control Panel and rename the new adapter "Hamachi" Without the quotation marks.
I have tried everything you mentioned reinstalled Hamachi, Firewall is off, cycled modem, and removed and reinstalled Hamachi network adapterbut I still get the Ghost State problem. The connection will remain good for about 20 minutes and then it just goes into Ghost State.
Any other solutions or settings to try? This didn't work for me. I am still getting "Ghost State" errors. Any other suggestions? I have the same problem. I would greatly appreciate finding a solution. LogMeIn Rescue. GoToAssist Service Desk. GoToAssist Remote Support. LogMeIn Central. LogMeIn Pro. LogMeIn Hamachi. Sign In Register.
